Tuesday, June 1st , 2010: Peter Gabel hosts group conversation with Mutombo Mpanya, PhD on: “Break on Through to the Other Side: Spiritual Activism as a Strategy for Social Change” Mutombo Mpanya PhD originally from a small village in Zaire (now again Congo), Mutombo was a New College faculty member for 17 years, has written and lectured on the effect of Western development on the Third World and will be an Associate Scholar with the AFC Institute for Spiritual Activism and as always an affectionate and radical comrade. His publications include two books: Africa’s Food Crisis: Its Roots, Its Future and African Land Ethics: A Christian Perspective on Land.
