**Will be held on one of LandPaths’ sites ~ to be announced.

Read to Write! ~ with Christine Walker (Christinewalker.net)
November 13, 1pm – 3pm

Christine will teach you to “close read” passages by acclaimed writers in order to learn their secrets. Hone your skill for creating sharp, focused & meaty sentences in your own projects, from the first sentence, to the last and everything in between. For aspiring writers, reluctant writers and accomplished writers who want to be inspired.

Beginning October: Cultivating Daily Writing Practice ~ with Julie Christenson
Ongoing Saturdays until December 12th, 12 – 2.
Come once or come regularly.
Learn to think freely and vibrantly on the page. This is writing as process rather than to create a finished product. Whatever your goals and aspirations, a daily writing practice “ups” your ability to live with consciousness, clarity and creativity.

Writing as Daily Practice Workshop, ongoing Saturdays, begins in October!

**All workshops held at Red Thread Studio, 99 West Sixth Street, Santa Rosa, unless otherwise stated, and are appropriate for writers and non-writers alike. Bring your own writing materials.

To sign up, or for more information, email Julie at jmil59@yahoo.com

TBA 2011
Institute for Spiritual Activism: The Spirit of the 60’s

The year 2010 begins the 50th anniversary of the decade of the 1960’s. The Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art and Politics will be creating a project to examine and reflect upon this important and tumultuous decade from the perspective that this period was both created by an essential revolution in consciousness – rooted in the transformative power of mutual recognition and love — and, born on the strength of its winds, carried this consciousness forward through the remaining decades of the 20th century to the present. This fiftieth anniversary provides an opportunity to renew and strengthen that spirit for the difficult and challenging tasks of this new millennium.

The AFC Spirit of the Sixties Project will begin in 2011 with a brief but important introduction using films about some, though not all, of the history and creation of 60’s reality and consciousness and most importantly accompanied by panel and audience discussion to deepen their meaning and importance. The project will then resume in the Spring with more film and discussion, guest presentations and lectures marking important historical events of the period.
